'A' leads letters; the Ancient Lord Leads and lords the entire world

What profit have those derived from learning, who worship not the good feet of Him who is possessed of pure knowledge?

They who are united to the glorious feet of Him who walks upon the flower of the mind shall flourish long upon the earth

They who reach the feet of Him who is free from desire and aversion shall cross the great sea of births; others cannot cross it

As the world is preserved by rain, it is to be considered as the nectar of life

He who lives as he should live in this world will be placed among the gods who dwell in heaven

To say disagreeable things when agreeable are at hand is like eating unripe fruit when ripe fruit is available

Even the thought of stealing another's property is evil, let alone the act of stealing

The householder is the support of ascetics, the poor, and the dead

Learn thoroughly what should be learnt, and then live according to that learning

Learning is the true imperishable wealth; all other things are not wealth

In prosperity, humility is needed; in adversity, dignity is needed

Those who work tirelessly without giving up will see even fate yield to them

Even if you know the art of doing things, act according to the nature of the world

Those without love keep everything for themselves; those with love give even their bones to others

It is better to die than to live in disgrace; but when death comes, the wise know how to live

Is she a celestial being, a peacock, or a woman with heavy earrings? My heart is confused

Though they may be cruel when touched, the melody of deceitful women is sweeter than the lute

Sulking is the joy of love; the joy of that is the embrace that follows
