ஒருவன் எந்தப் பொருளிலிருந்து, எந்தப் பொருளிலிருந்து பற்று நீங்கியவனாக இருக்கின்றானோ, அந்தந்தப் பொருளால் அவன் துன்பம் அடைவதில்லை.
எந்த எந்தப் பொருள்களின் மேல் விருப்பம் இல்லாதவனாய் விலகுகிறானோ அவன் அந்த அந்த பொருள்களால் துன்பப்படமாட்டான்.
